Written and assembled by Church Historian Cindy O’Neill
On April 10, 1937, the Pantagraph newspaper printed eight photographs of our church with the headline “480 Members Build and Pay for $70,000 Eureka Christian Church.” Our two buildings were just a couple of years old at the time of the article.
The photographs include Sunday School classrooms, Rev. Donald M. Salmon, the choir, the kitchen, an office, the Heritage Parlor, the Chapel, the communion table, and the exterior of the Sanctuary and Parish Hall (with ca. 1937 cars along the road!).
The negatives were digitized by the McLean County Museum of History and can be found on the Illinois Digital Archives website. On display are computer prints from the digitized photographic negatives.
