Adults:
For adults, Sunday school takes place most weeks from 9:30-10:25 in the Fireside Lounge (in the Education Building). The group focuses primarily on scripture study, focusing on one book of the Bible at a time. The current focus is on the books of Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy, using the Yale Bible Study program:
“Between Egypt and Canaan, between Exodus and Joshua, are the lawgiving and wilderness struggles described in the books of Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Often a challenge for the casual reader, these pages are dense with ritual sacrifice, with laws both famous – the Golden Rule! – and almost inexplicable. Despite their difficulty, these books offer great reward, as it is here that we see the community of Israel defined, its beliefs and practices laid out, to be understood and, sometimes, questioned. In this study we will make our way through these books, opening them for contemporary readers.”
On the first Sunday of each month, the class participates in a prayer practice called Visio Divina, which uses pieces of art to help us connect more closely with the Holy Spirit.
If you would like to participate in the Adult Sunday School class online via the church’s video link, please email spiritualcare@eurekachristian.org for more information.
