On Palm Sunday remember Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem, when people laid palms in his path and shouted “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!” Obviously this will look different to us this year because we’re sheltering in place to try to halt the spread of COVID-19, so we have to get creative.
Inspired by a church in Oregon, we’d like Eureka to be filled with palms. Place your palms or other greenery on your front door, front window, or wherever works for you, to show your welcome to Jesus in your life.
This is also a great way to show off your kids’ homemade palms. Rev. Amy sent out some craft ideas for this week to our younger folks, but if you want to get creative with paper or other materials, this is a great time to get crafty! Let this be a creative outlet this week, and share your handiwork with us. Email any pictures to worship@eurekachristian.org or you can post on Instagram (make sure to tag @eurekaccdoc) or Facebook. We’ll share all the highlights for the rest of the world to see.
