We don’t have the power to make rainbows or waterfalls, sunsets or roses,
But we do have the power to bless people by our words and smiles.
We carry within us the power to make the world better.

Registration is now open for the 2025 Women’s Retreat!
Words are important. Do you remember that old “sticks and stones” rhyme kids say? “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” That’s just plain wrong. Words do hurt. But they can also heal. Words matter. The words we speak to others can leave a huge impact and create a lasting memory—either good or bad. This is why it is so important to choose our words wisely.
At the 2025 Eureka Christian Church Women’s Retreat, we will discover our power to bless people through our words and smiles. Our guide for the weekend is the delightful book Bless These Lips: Make Over Your Words to Influence Your World by Sharla Fritz. She writes,
This is worth the effort because transforming our words can improve our relationships. Changing what comes across our lips will affect our attitude toward life. And most importantly, altering our tongues’ response will enrich our connection to God as we spend more time in prayer and praise (Bless These Lips, p. 7).
Throughout the weekend, we’ll explore forgiveness, encouragement, truth, grace, discretion, and joy. And of course, we’ll have a lot of fun!
The retreat will be held at the Sacré-Cœur Retreat Center in Magnolia, Illinois (just 30 miles away)! This beautiful center offers hotel-style accommodations with all single rooms and private baths. Linens and towels are provided. Cost is $260 per person. Financial assistance is available. Your registration fee includes lodging, meals, snacks, and retreat supplies, including a copy of the book.
Check in begins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, with the first session starting at 7:00 p.m. Please eat dinner before you arrive. The retreat will end at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 6.
Please return your completed registration form and fee to the Eureka Christian Church office by Friday, March 7.
